Rev. Joe M. Wilson

Joe M. Wilson preached his first sermon in the First Christian Church, Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Sunday evening, January 29, 1939. After serving in the US Navy in World War II, he was ordained by our church on January 29, 1946. His education was in Henderson State, Friends University, and Phillips University. However, he credits much of his education to his world travels. Joe has served churches in Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. In his last pastorate, the church was fifth in the nation among all Disciple Churches. For five consecutive years, more than one hundred new members were received into his local church. Joe has also led revivals around the nation. Upon his retirement, he moved back to Hot Springs and has been active in his home church.
